Friday - and a glimpse of things to come

Well here is a poor attempt at having something to show for the week.  I must say it has been a bit of a procrastination week.  In my defence, I have done a lot of general tidying up - just little things like my dressing table and totally boring stuff!

At least it's something I suppose!  An old magazine (I don't buy any mags any more, so that can't happen again) a little wall plaque I used to think cute, an old (broken) necklace and a few odds & sods like fridge magnets.  Now if ever there was a category for clutter, fridge magnets would be right at the top of the list.

Now a glimpse of what's to come.  Actually this is probably a good idea.  Maybe I can publicly shame myself into it.  A 'before'  photo .... hope to come back with an 'after' photo on Monday.  Have a great weekend.

Cheers Wendy

We have just moved into a much tinier home, and I am struggling to fit all my 'treasure' in. I am so with you on this journey.

Hi Lyndel - thanks for joining in! Inspiration ..... hmmm, I'll try my best for both our sakes!

Hi Cath - thanks too for hopping over. Nice to hear from you. I'm wondering how we would manage if/when we ever have to move.

OK Janelle - as long as I get someone who really knows what they are doing!

It all counts :) All those small spaces add up to a decluttered and organised big space. Some people call it the "dot to dot" method, like the kiddies books where you join the dots up.Just keep doing a little bit and eventually all your "dots" will join up to a decluttered home.

thanks dreamer - I continue to be inspired by you!

Those little bits definitely do add up duchess. I think it is good to log them all.
I expect you are familiar with the idea of breaking down big jobs that feel overwhelming into smaller bite size ones.

I found I have got the stage where I am scrutinising stuff around me far more, challenging myself as to whether the familiar, is in fact unneeded and uncherished and therefore 'clutter'.
I feel quite deprived if I can't find something to declutter each day now. And sometimes that just means filing some paperwork (before it bomes the dreaded paper mountain)

purplefish - yes you are quite right. I am finding now that is the only way to do it - and this blog is really helping. I know now that taking a photo really helps! .... and it helps me realise just how bad it looks in the before photo. Now for the after photo ......

Hi Wendy, Thanks for your nice comments on my Keep or Pitch blog. Looking forward to how you will do yours. Glad I inspired you.
I am not making much progress in the actual throwing away part but having a lot of fun examining the clutter and hearing what everyone suggests I do with it all.

Hi Ruth! Thanks for dropping over. I'm ever hopeful that I will keep getting inspired! Just a little bit every day helps I think.
