Lately I've been thinking that since I started this blog I have been looking very judgementally (and rightly so) around the house for things that I can declutter. All a bit negative. As a bit of light relief, I thought I might make Tuesday a day to appreciate the things that I do enjoy having around me. Not because of $$ value, but just because they are special to me for whatever reason. Please join in - I apologise in advance if this is a bit twee or it has all been done before. |
This week inspite of - or maybe just to spite the hot weather - I thought I would show off my lovely crochet granny blanket.
No I didn't make it (can knit but not crochet). Actually I bought it a few years ago when we were on holidays mid-north NSW at a show. I just love it. It is so beautifully made with the raised flowers, very warm and bright.
Luckily it's a bit cooler here today. I don't think I could have even touched this yesterday!!
So that is my object of affection today - what's yours?
cheers Wendy

Oh I have many things may have to do a post on them since my opshop diet is still on.
Its really windy here now such a relief after all the heat even if its blowing us away lol Love the rug.
Oh no, it's not twee at all, I think it's a great idea to show off the things that you love and are not parting with!
That blanket really is a special one, those raised flowers are really quite a lovely feature. When do you use it? It looks like a snuggle in front of the fire one to me!
Nelly - I'm sure you do - I've seen your blog.
Ali - It is lovely and looking forward to winter already. Yes we have a fire but I use it more in front of telly.
That took someone a long time to put together. No matter how many times I try knitting and crocheting just will not compute in my brain so I am always envious of people who find it so easy.I'd love to be able to create something like that :)
I was going to say telly but then I thought you might have been a no tv person!
dreamer - I'm the same with crochet it's just not logical to me... but knitting somehow makes sense. Yes you're right though I can't believe how detailed the rug is and so well made.
Ali - I almost wish there was no tv (or XBox). We used to say years ago once the tv broke it wasn't going to get replaced. However that was before D Jnr arrived on the scene and needless to say the tv has been seriously upgraded on several occasions!
